It's gone! The monitor is gone! Dr.Bond said she hadn't had an episode in over 60 days, and she didn't need it anymore. I'm so happy I could dance! We probably would have been rid of it at her last appointment, had the monitor company done what they were supposed to do...but I'm just happy she's rid of it now.
She grew 2 inches, She's now 23 inches, and gained approximately 2 pounds, she's now 12.2 pounds, since her 2 month appointment on January 13th. She is right where she is supposed to be developmentally, even with her adjusted age from being premature. Developmentally she is 7 weeks old...Some things she does are right at the 2 month mark and a few things are actually at the 3 month mark. She is happy, and healthy, and that's all we could ask for.

Baby Monitor
So...it's been some time since I did any updates. I'm currently working on my birth story, and when I get it completed and typed out, there will be a number of posts from the birth story and all of my facebook status updates while she was in the NICU. Just so I can have them in the blog where I should have been doing the updates in the first place. I will probably back date all those, to fit the days that stuff actually happened.
Anywho, on a different note...I've been dealing with some stress this week because Kaylynn has set off her low heart rate alarm everyday this week, some days more than once. I was beginning to worry because it was going off every morning, every time was while she was sleeping. I called her Pediatrician the first day it went off twice, I think it was Monday. They said they were just about to call me to order a d/c (discontinue usage), but since she'd set it off I need to watch her, and if the alarms get more frequent, to call them again.
She set it off twice yesterday and at least once today, so I called again. This time, I was really upset, because I am so afraid of her not being healthy and/or something being wrong with her, and for her to set this thing off so much in the last few days...it just wore me down emotionally thinking there *was* something wrong with her. The pediatrician's office called the monitor company and ordered a download to see what was really going on. The monitor company called me to make sure I'd be home, and then the lady told me that in January, when they did the first download, he was supposed to reset the heart rate parameters and make the low heart rate 70 instead of 80 so that was most likely the cause of the alarms this week. When babies sleep, they hit the deep sleep stage and their heart rates drop in the 70's, but that that is normal.
The guy came, did the download, and was going to leave. I mentioned the parameter change and he asked her actual due date. I told him December 18th and he agreed that it needed changed. He reprogrammed the monitor and told me they'd call this evening with a report. Later in the evening, they called to tell me that the lowest her heart rate went was 77, and that is totally normal. Well...needless to say I was thoroughly relieved but a bit angry too. When he did the download on January 18th, he was supposed to reprogram the monitor, and we wouldn't have had the worry and stress all week that we'd had. There is a good chance she may not need the monitor anymore after they see this report. It's good news, and I'm trying to just focus on that part of it.
We have an appointment with her pediatrician on Friday. We'll get her a good check over, and find out for sure if she needs it anymore.
